Who Is Ayinde..

Ayinde Z. Wayne is a technology leader, innovator, and systems thinker whose work centers on expanding access, representation, and opportunity, particularly for Black youth in underserved communities.

Ayinde’s journey into tech was sparked by an HBCU professor who challenged him to imagine a future beyond what he had been shown. That moment opened an entirely new world. After earning degrees in Information Systems and Finance, he spent more than fifteen years driving technological innovation across education and enterprise environments. Early in his career, Ayinde worked as a Systems Analyst in the corporate sector, often as one of the only Black technologists in the room. Limited representation and advancement barriers were real but instead of discouraging him, they sharpened his sense of purpose.

Those experiences fueled his commitment to building pathways for others. That commitment led to the founding of Pipelines Youth Academy (PYA), a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring Black youth and expanding access to careers in technology. Through PYA, Ayinde established internship and workforce-development programs within area school districts, giving students early exposure to real world technical environments and professional mentorship.

At the same time, Ayinde stepped into his first senior leadership role as Director of Information Technology for the School District of University City, becoming at the time, the only Black male in a director-level IT position within the region’s K–12 education sector. This milestone marked not only a personal achievement, but a broader statement about representation, leadership, and responsibility.
It was during this same period emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic that Ayinde faced one of the most demanding chapters of his life.

In a remarkably compressed span of time, Ayinde lost both of his parents back-to-back, while simultaneously welcoming his first two children into the world. As he navigated profound grief, new fatherhood, and the weight of professional leadership during an unprecedented global crisis, he was also building what would become one of his most significant innovations: MARTI AI Learning Systems.

MARTI AI is an artificial intelligence platform purpose-built for K–12 education. MARTI supports safe, equitable learning, strengthens teacher capacity, improves operational efficiency, and helps districts adopt AI responsibly without sacrificing trust, privacy, or human judgment. Designed amid uncertainty, the platform reflects the values forged in that season: care, structure, responsibility, and resilience. Ayinde intentionally created MARTI AI to be safety-first, student-centered, and human-guided, a direct response to the unregulated, impersonal technologies flooding classrooms in the post-pandemic era.

Ayinde’s work reflects a broader vision for education: one where technology is not used to replace people, but to support them; not to accelerate inequality, but to close gaps in opportunity and representation. His journey shaped by creativity, loss, leadership, and love stands as a testament to what can be built even in the hardest seasons.

Through his work in technology, education, and mentorship, Ayinde is not only shaping systems he is shaping futures.

This is just the beginning...
